Hello, NYC!

So tomorrow will mark two weeks in NYC. Two weeks! I can't believe I lasted that long. Ha. All kidding aside though.
I am very excited for this new path I have created for myself, and am loving every minute of it so far.

I immediately jumped into the game after getting off the plane. Quite literally....Two hours after touch down I had my first NYC interview seasonal work at a Toy store. Then that week was a plethora of interviews and auditions for various projects and creative jobs. Then after some job offers I decided on the most "adorkable" and flexible of jobs: Toy Store Clerk, and Harry Potter Exhibit Host at Discovery Times Square.

Being in NYC, I got to see some crazy things happen. One of them happened last night when a full on fight broke out in the train car I was in. As soon as the doors opened at a stop, I and a majority of the passengers in that car got out as a police officer who happened to be nearby ran over to stop the insanity. Turns out that it was a couple of intoxicated hoodlums. One insulted the other and so of course fists were raised. I was more assumed than scared, and waited patiently for another train to come while a giant mutant rat crawled around the tracks. I named him Steve.

Exciting things have been happening to. I emailed my favorite puppeteer of all time and she responded within minutes with a long novel of how to get started as a puppeteer. It definitely inspired me.

Also, I have a new alter ego named Annie Thompson from Pennsylvania who is a Columbia University student studying radiology. She was made up to appease the questions of this sleazy guy on the train who would not stop talking to me. Annie will definitely come in handy many times. I don't know about Steve though.
