To go to work. I did. I even left three hours early because I knew the buses would be delayed. I didn't know how completely backed up they were. 10 buses went by in an hour. I finally managed to get on one. I had to squeeze my way into a spot. Good thing I'm tiny. Then it took a half hour to get a few blocks. Then we hit Central Park North. Stopped. Completely stopped.
The bus driver joked over the PA, "Why don't ya'll take a nice walk down to 5th avenue and eventually I'll get there and pick you up."
So I got off after waiting semi patiently for forty five minutes. Headed on another street and decided to trek back home. It was easier than getting to Times Square. That would have taken another three hours, and by the time I got there work would be almost over. I had to just give up. It was useless. Completely useless.
Makes me really appreciate the subway now. Gosh, I miss it. Please come back soon. Please!
