I love the pandemonium that Sandy has caused. Trains shut down at 7pm and grocery stores were completely empty by mid afternoon. I, of course did not prepare. Because of sheer laziness to go to the store, and because I had to work.
Yes...I work now. Busy all this weekend helping to put up the Pop-Up Store I'm working at. Today I was covered in fake moss like one would get covered by glitter. I also assembled some display furniture, put contact paper on pedestals and covered a giant mirror with fake leaves only to be told that they changed their minds and so I had to take it all down. I didn't mind. It was quite fun. Destroying is easier than creating. But I do rather prefer to create.
So I might possibly have an actual place to live come December with this amazing gal on craigslist. Sounds sketch I know...but I'm a pretty good judge of character and have always had the best of luck with finding housing. From my first viewing of the place I knew I wanted to live there. Pre-war building...giant roof access...amazing location...AH! It was much like asking for a second date or something. I had to play cool and wait a bit before I emailed her back saying, "OMG OMG I WANT IT!" Besides I really needed to give it some thought and not completely rush into things. Then a "second date" did come and my feelings of the place and the potential roomie were confirmed. So now I'm playing the waiting game and giving some adequate time much like letting the phone ring twice before picking up so as not to seem desperate. (When you really are). So I'm praying to the Universe that it works out.
For now I'm going to play it cool...drink some wine...finish watching Harriet the Spy on Netflix and wait for this Sandy to come and wreck havoc. If it EVER does.
